No greenhouse? No problem here! 🌱✨ After experiencing 💦rain damage💦 to some of our more fragile flowers in 2024, we aren’t taking any chances this growing season. Say hello to our row tunnels! We are first using them to kick start the growing season, but they will also be used to protect our precious seedlings and blooms from the elements and critters in the peak of summer ☀️🐇🦌✨ The most important touch? Securing the poly covering down with rope or cord, of course! Using some tent stakes, place one on each side of the PVC hoop. Keeping it even distance on each side, about an inch out from where the rebar/ PVC is anchored into the ground. This way you will have space to pull down the poly covering between the two anchored spots and make sure it is secured along the ground. The rope is threaded all the way through the tent stake on one side, with even lengths of rope to drape over opposite sides of the PVC hoop. Bring the rope ends down to the opposite tent stake, pulling tightly in order to create tension. Each individual rope end is tied to the single tent stake in order to keep the tension in the rope over top of the PVC hoop. Since this rope creates tension against the poly and arch, you are able to slide the covering up allow the seedlings to get fresh air 🌬️🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱⛺️ ✨ ✨ #diylowtunnel #localflowersma #localflowersri #rowcovering #localcutflowersma #localcutflowersri #flowerbarma #flowerbarri

Happy Monday! We had a busy weekend at the flower farm tending to our new rows and covering some of our favorite blooms! 🌱✨ it finally feels like spring!

You want funky and fresh florals? We’ve got em 💜🌸 This weekend we planted ERYNGIUM or otherwise known as, Sea Holly. She probably won’t be blooming for us this year since she is a perennial plant. Rather than producing flowers in the first year the Eryngium will focus on growth and becoming strong plants. In the second season we will see those purpley, spikey blooms! We planted White Glitter as well which has the same plant structure but soft greens in the color palette✨💚

Avant Garde Tulips will be the first to bloom! 🌱✨💐 It’s amazing to lift the cover each day and check on these beauties!

Flower farm ✨distraction✨ at its finest. Finding a slug or caterpillar of some sort eating my Foxgloves so now I cannot rest until the entire bed is cleared. No way did I baby these precious seedlings all winter for them to be taken out like that. Mama farmer on the loose! 🌱🐛🔍
